The Problem
Founders and subject matter experts rarely need more website. They need a site that says clearly what they do, and one they can update without calling an resource.
The Approach
Every project ran the same way. I worked directly with the founder, sorted out what the business needed to say, then designed and built a WordPress site around it and trained the owner to run it.
- One point of contact from the first call to launch.
- Content structure before visual design.
- Training and documentation at handoff, so owners weren’t dependent on me.
What We Built
Reed’s Local (2015–2016)

A website for a neighborhood bar in Avondale, Chicago, with events, menus and drink specials the owner could update herself.
Kate did an excellent job with our website. We have received several compliments on how nice it looks and how easy it is to navigate. She also went above and beyond to make sure that we were able to update the website ourselves through WordPress. I cannot gush about how awesome she is and how happy we are with the site and her dedication to the project.
Melissa Genova Hill, Owner, Reed’s Local
LFA PR (2013)

A site refresh for a neighborhood public relations firm, with clear templates for its work, services and story.
Datascopic (2015)

A restructured home for Excel expert Oz du Soleil’s years of tutorials and posts, built around a tutorials directory.
Artist Painters (2015–2016)

A portfolio site for a Chicago painting company that employs artists as painters, with profiles for about 50 of them.
Kitzy (2016)

A personal brand site for Kitzy, an Apple deployment consultant, plus coaching on his social profiles and Google Analytics.
Kate has been a fantastic resource for all things digital, whether redesigning my website on WordPress, fine-tuning my social media profiles, or understanding Google Analytics. She’s an excellent communicator, and I will absolutely hire her again in the future.
John Kitzmiller, Apple IT Professional
Signal:Noise Productions (2012)

A website setup for an audio engineering and music production studio.
The Result
Every owner left with a site they could run on their own.
The way of working hasn’t changed: one point of contact, clarity before design and a handoff the client can run without me. It’s how I work with firms today.
