Highway blackness
morning haze
rumble of the highway
breeze touches my neck.
No turning back
and no regrets
stopping only at stop signs
faster and faster.
In my beat up Ford
with a jacket, notebook and pen,
I’m starting over
roadway unclear.
So I am heading somewhere—
nowhere and everywhere.
Searching for my destiny
and for myself.
Toward the end of my road
I see a green neon sign
in the window of a small care.
it reads, “HELP WANTED.”
I pull over.
This is my destiny.
