I worked 12 hours yesterday. I know some of you won’t feel for me on this. Maybe you do this on a regular basis. But I don’t. Nor do I think my field (magazine editing) really should warrant such work load. With proper planning, deadlines should be met and we’d all have plenty of time to do our job. But with the staff members I work with neglecting their deadlines and too many pages to process, I’ve been working overtime and extra hours since October. I don’t mind pulling my share of the extra weight but it’s been two months straight and I’m absolutely exhausted and I’m at my wit’s end.
Tomorrow my editorial group has an all-day meeting and I am not looking forward to it. There are a variety of procedural problems that make life more difficult that probably will need to be discussed. SO that’s why I have been so overwhelmed, stressed, overworked, underpaid and irritated. My absence from this blog has also been a result of all of this work, etc.
I am, however, looking forward to the holidays. I have Friday off and I am taking next week off. I figured out that I’ll be off for 12 days. Twelve sweet days that I will NOT check email and will NOT think about work. Yay!

Hey! Thanks for the X-mas card, it was real cute. I have gotten a bunch of cards together for you, and gotten all my coworkers to save theirs. I hope you have a relaxing holiday and get some quality knitting done. See you after the holidays.

I have next week off, too! Except for the 25th and 26th when we'll be in Indy, I'll be hanging around and (probably) knitting. Give me a call if you get bored and need some company!
