I have on occasion discussed my knitting group in the greater Chicagoland area called SNBWB (short for Stitch’N Bitch Western Burbs). This week, with the wonderful urging of Magarza, we moved our blog (that at one time was on Yahoo!Groups) to a new home on Ning—a new website community tool.
At first I was hesitant—not because Ning isn’t awesome, but because in the last month I just tried to get the group all on Blogger. But due to some unfortunate technical issues (Blogger updated to a new system, our blog didn’t transition to this new system, thus many cannot even access the blog for posting), it was decided that a new, more interactive forum would be best for all.
And boy is it! This utility is high-power blogging fun! The features move around easily, templates are quick to change and EVERYONE can get involved with everything. It hosts photos so we can have projects (I even created a ton of albums to house various kinds of projects). I am so excited about this new thing I could just jump for glee.
The other thing that’s cool is that the Ning peeps are continuing to update the usability of the site by adding features like a Calendar widget and the ability to import posts from other blogging utilities.
site rating=A+
