I have finished one Cheeky Ribbed Sock this weekend, to the glee of me, myself and I. I set out to do it, and sure enough, I did. So I’ve already casted on the second sock and I’m about two inches into the ribbed top. It’s going pretty smoothly. Everyone at SNBWB really liked the feeling of the bamboo yarn I’m using and commented on the color combination (of which I can’t take credit for, of course). I haven’t much worked on anything else today except for translating intarsia patterns into my Stitch ‘N Bitch: A Knitter’s Design Journal, which I am using as a reference source. I also scanned the useful charts from No Sheep For You and pasted them right in there. And I found a list of crochet term abbreviations to add to that section of the book. It’s turning out great! More project updates to come.
In other news, I am gravely saddened by today’s news from Virginia Tech. I was captivated by the news ticker all day and it has horrified me. We fight terrorists overseas to protect our home yet look what we do to each other in our own backyards. I can only hope that something good can come of this; whether it be a reality check or a lesson we all can learn from. The coming weeks and months can only hold what that lesson will be. Love and support to the students and their families affected today.
