For the past year or so, I have been slowly adding to my Calphalon cookware collection. I’ve done this by using credit card points, waiting for sales at department stores and finding the occasional pan at Home Goods—a random . My collection now includes a 2 1/2-quart shallow saucepan (pictured on Amazon), Chef’s skillet, stockpot, nonstick 12-inch covered fry pan (pictured on Amazon) and now …
a 5-quart shallow saucepan! I found it for $35 at Home Goods, which seriously could be my favorite store ever.
The pan is similar to the 2 1/2-quart saucepan but obviously twice as large. I think it will be ideal for cooking larger amounts of soups or meals where you’re boiling down a lot of liquid. The lip of the pan has a few scratches from handling at the store, but the inside coating is pristine. It also looks as close to the hard-anodized aluminum pans that I’m trying to collect, which are known to be a little more durable and long lasting than some of the more contemporary Calphalon pieces. After further online investigation, I’m actually pretty sure this pan is part of the ONE Infused Anodized collection.
The pan was on clearance so it didn’t have a lid with it, but I’m hoping I can buy the lid separately (I found a lid replacement site that sells just what I need!). At $35, the pan too good to pass up when it’s normally sold for around $100 on sale. Now I better get cooking!
